| 760711 | 2009-03-30 05:22:00 | Will open, but won't read anything (but did last night) not even recognised on 'my computer'. on another note, i have noticed that text is being incorrectly placed (ie being moved from end of sentence and appearing randomly elsewhere. |

| 760712 | 2009-03-30 05:23:00 | the only thing that has been added since the drive last worked is an itunes update | kiwibantam (14545) | ||
| 760713 | 2009-03-30 05:26:00 | What you can try is locate a bootable CD - Make sure the BIOS is set to boot from the optical drive first - if the PC boots off the CD - then its a software problem. You can use a XP/Linux CD to boot from. If the CD is XP no need to go through the process of installing, the first screen will be plenty. |

| 760716 | 2009-03-30 07:35:00 | thanks, will give it a go...if not, hammer all ready! - but thats last resort  Serious though :nerd: - if a bootable CD will start/run that is bypassing all the OS. Meaning generally the Hardware is OK. I have known viruses and spyware to actually disable the optical drives so CD's with cleaning software can not run. |
