761922 2009-04-03 03:59:00 Year 2007 I had Thunderbird installed on my Laptop and I used to use it to retrieve my email's work at that time.

I left the work , and I have formatted my laptop I guess twice.

now these days I installed TheBat mail client , and I used it to retrieve my new email work which nothing to do with the previous work.

Today I just installed Eudora Beta V8 for testing purpose, surprising when I opened Eudora after installation completed, I found that Eudora has showed me my previous email (2007)!!!!!

How does that come (with formatted PC) ?

Say I might not sure if I would have formatted my laptop or not,why hasn't TheBat done that ?

761923 2009-04-03 04:02:00 Did you do a clean install, or install over what was already there??

If you installed over windows (what was there) thats not formatting

761924 2009-04-03 04:55:00 You may have just formatted the system drive and kept D drive with all the Documents and settings containing those emails.

Or you may have installed over your installation as speedy mentioned

I guess (I forgot) this was the case.

For sure I did clean install, I used CD utility to format the HD,,,,but might be only drive C not D,,,,,,,,,,,,,

buy why TheBat could not find them while Eudora found them,,,,though the email was belong to Thunderbird,,,,,,,,,,Does that mean Eudora is compatible with Thunderbird while TheBat is not ?

761926 2009-04-03 05:18:00 Eudora 8 beta is based on thunderbird with the look/fell of Eudora. So I would say TB and Eudora store emails similarly, making them compatible with each other Blam (54)

761928 2009-04-03 06:44:00 Must have been a different partition, you cant cd to c (if youre in windows) and format the hdd with windows on it .

You usually boot from the XP / windows CD and follow the prompts on the screen
