| 761949 | 2009-04-03 03:20:00 | I have a hard drive connected directly to my Linksys WRT610N router as Network storage. It is predominantly used to store media to stream through the router wirelessly to my media adapter connected to a TV. The drive appears as Z: in my computer (VISTA), I can click into it and see all my folders but I can't create a folder. Unless I go into one of the folders and then I can create a folder, cut it, paste it back up the hierachy. That seems to work. I have 3 users Attached file: Drive.jpg (www.imagef1.net.nz) (39 KB) when I try to apply full rights to any of them Attached file: drive_2.jpg (www.imagef1.net.nz) (38 KB) and click 'apply', all the rights disappear again. I want to remove unnecessary users and ensure full access to those that remain. Whose unknown users and unix??? |

| 761954 | 2009-04-03 04:52:00 | From what I've read Vista doesn't play nicely with the NAS of the WRT610N when the filesystem is NTFS. Try Fat32 and see if that fixes it. Bear in mind you won't be able to copy files large than 4gb and max hard drive size supported is 2TB I think. Blam |

| 761955 | 2009-04-03 08:40:00 | This is driving me nuts. I finally figured out how to map the network drive. Now I want to populate a folder on the network drive with files. When I navigate to the folder I want to use and try and paste in the files it says I need permission. Attached file: 11238747990.jpg (www.imagef1.net.nz) (26 KB) How do I take control of the NAS drive and get permissions? I tried changing them in properties/security but it said permission denied. |

EDIT: Or, just run this comamnd from cmd(run cmd as admin): takeown /f Z: /r /d y icacls Z: /grant administrators:F /t |
