582906 2007-08-20 03:49:00 Hi all,

Noticed the peel-me ad was back this morning - the following CSS should nuke it. If you actually like the forum clock, delete the last four lines.
/*remove ads and misc branding clutter */
.fairfax_nav,
#jcornerSmall,
#jcornerBig,
#advert-banner,
#header,
#navigation,
#page-peel-right-6,
.tfoot,
table[width="160"],
td[width="170"],
td[width="300"],
div[align="center"] a[target="_new"],
img[alt="PC World Forums"],
embed[name="jcornerSmallObject"],
div embed
{display: none;}

/* hide the clock & post times */
td.thead {visibility: hidden;}
td.thead a, td.thead[align="right"] {visibility: visible; background-image: none;}
span.time, div.smallfont[align="center"] {display: none;}
table.tborder {background: url("pressf1.co.nz) 0 0 repeat-x;}Cheers,
Bletch :D

582908 2007-08-20 04:00:00 Aaaah, but the CSS also tidies up a lot of other stuff that AdBlock/AdBlock Plus doesn't get - one example is the page width. Erayd (23)

Clicking on it and nothing happens. I think it must be hosted on a very slow server, as it is causing my page loading to be very slow.

Oh, but this little trick does far far more than just block the peel me stickers. ;) :cool:

Cheers Bletch. :thumbs:

Are you referring to Bletch's fix? If so, instructions can be found here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz).

It's for Opera. If drcspy or anyone else who wants to use the fix has problems enabling it then they just need to ask and more help will be given.
