Nothing wrong with Nortons. Runs fine for me. Dosen't false report like AVG.

583495 2007-08-24 21:57:00 Steam sucks.

kotaku.com

The key lies in uninstalling before you reinstall. Uninstalling registers the same as installing does, so if you do not perform an uninstall first SecuROM thinks you are just installing the game on different systems over and over again.

Pity that so many are reporting that this doesn't work.

And that both the developer and the game devs are refusing to give out new keys, rendering the game useless.

I read 30 or so pages of the thread linked earlier, Once again customers have a real grievance. Copy protection is one thing, treating with your customer base as thieves is an entirely different matter.

Glad I didn't buy their poison.

Not sure about any of the details, I just found this on the web and remembered this thread.

Ken Levine has said DRM will be removed sometime - tho not soon - if u can wait link (www.shacknews.com)

And u might just have a PC capable of running it by then :)

583500 2007-08-26 19:51:00 Hopefully they will let cards with Shader Model v2 work properly as well by then. bob_doe_nz (92)
583501 2007-08-26 20:42:00 I have been playing it for many hours over the weekend and I have not had any issues with SecuROM or any crashes...

It is a great game :D

Have you forgotten that massive false system file detection issue in Asia a few months ago?? AVG might detect random stuff that doesn't matter as viruses, but it doesn't delete essential system files!!

583503 2007-08-27 01:40:00 Mind you, having AVG consider securom as a rootkit is in my opinion a good thing  bob_doe_nz (92)
