| 584076 | 2007-08-24 08:41:00 | Thanks Godfather for sticking to the subject of my thread. I did not ask you all how do you avoid getting Spam. Funny the whole world complains about getting spam and 90% of all email is Spam, and yet all of the posters so far say they get none because they are careful who they give their address out to or they use Gmail. So why does not everybody and every business switch to Gmail so there will be no more spam at all ? Assuming that most people do not want to use Gmail, my proposal was a way of greatly reducing the spam receieved. Yes I take Godfather's point that some spam may be being sent by Worms and Trojans etc. Obviously a partcipating ISP would have to warn their customer that they are sending spam and if they do not stop sending it they will be disconnected. I am sure most people would be very annoyed if they found out they were being Trojaned or whatever and would be pleased to be notified so that they could take appropriate measures. Does anyone else want to comment on my system ? or any other system aside from Gmail ! Kind Regards Digby |
