583154 2007-08-23 02:27:00 New Zealand is currently 10 hours ahead of France -
France Standard Time runs 1 hour ahead of the UK. this is to give France a single Time Zone, because in fact Eastern France would be in a different zone to Western France.
Each time zone is 15 degrees of Longitude wide.Greenwich (Zone Zulu) covers from Longitude 7 Degrees 30min East to 7Degrees 30 minutes West
NZ is in Time Zone Mike - 12 hours ahead of Greenwich, with the International Date Line to the East of NZ ie Longitude 180 - The International date line does not religiously follow the 180 meridian it is kinked a little to ensure no country has 2 dates on the same day.
Countries with Longitude East have times ahead of GMT, those with Longitude West have times behind Greenwich.
Of course these local zone times are then further adjusted by individual countries or states to ensure that adjacent area where necessary enjoy the same time, plus of course the ubiquitous daylight saving. Except that in Australia Queensland does not practice daylight saving while NSW and Victoria do - this does cause the odd problem.
Have I managed to confuse you.

Fantastic, thanks. How long do you reccon that time will be good for, 1, 2 weeks? At this rate we may be able to lap them a few times.
