583077 2007-08-20 10:11:00 I'm just curious to know why anyone who had lost money that way would be likely to say so here?

No bonus in it that I can see - just a bunch of people either
(a) making sympathetic noises that won't bring the cash back

or
(b) dealing out too-late "advice" about what they should have done with their money. Possibly rather smugly...

Who'd need that?

Well it is anonymous voting so people can vote without explaining their circumstances.

My point is - why would they want to?

I suggest they'd rather forget it than have an anonymous regurgitation of unfortunate facts.

Unless they enjoy a good moan & really don't have anything better to do.

(Even so, there are better better choices for counselling on that than here).

 we've definitely proved that here. But you never know, some people might have tips on how to pick your investments etc not that you should ever listen to others about YOUR money.

That also depends on what sort of investment advice your looking for. People often ask about suggestions on what to invest their cash in for 6 months because they need a very good return so that they can go overseas or put money in a business and they are starting with $10000 or something. That kind of situation can bring trouble if it goes wrong, however if your looking to invest your cash for the next 10-15 years then hopefully your investment risk should be a lot safer.
Also are you investing in NZ or overseas and does the company have a good history.

583082 2007-08-20 11:37:00 Amazing how many interpretations there can be of a seemingly simple thread.

Robbyp wants to know who lost money.

I said that I doubt anyone wants to tell us.

Beeswax34 implies they might have investment tips.
Tips for them? They've already lost their money.
Tips from them? Does being a loser qualify someone to give advice?

And next winmacguy talks of " the type of investment advice you're looking for."
But that's not what the thread question asked.
It was quite specific.
If it was meant to be a request for investment advice, it should've said so.

Great fun - and quite useless.
Too many of us who should be doing something more constructive with their evening...

Edit: I'm happy to be proved wrong if someone does want to share with us...

Don't gamble more then you can afford to lose.

Don't gamble it on Nathans Finance.

Oh wait, too late.

583085 2007-08-20 12:20:00 This thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) has a lot to do with this one. mmmork (6822)
