| 582733 | 2007-08-19 08:31:00 | But it amazes me she doesn't know who she is paying money to each month. Does she even look at the bill?Bet it is Xtra/Telecom then. All package into one bill, therefore no "bill" for internet use and probably doesn't recognise this is her ISP as well. Did you get her sorted in the end? |

| 582734 | 2007-08-19 09:41:00 | Got a call: Woman: "My computer isn't working" Me: "Whats happening with it exactly?" Woman: "The internet doesn't go" ME:"Have you rung your internet company?" Woman: "No, am I supposed to?" Me: "Who is your internet company?" Woman: "I don't know" Me: "Whats your email address?" Woman: (quite pleased she can answer that one) "Ah, its dot co dot nz" Me: "Er, it should be username -that is, whatever you chose as a username - at someone dot co dot nz, The someone is your internet company." Woman: "Oh...er.." Me: "Who do you pay the bill to?" Woman: "Bill?" If they are phoning you, say that you will need to come around to help her, but obviously charge her for it. Those sorts of issues are impossible to help over the phone, especially if they don't know much about computers. I mean would a plumber tell a customer how to fix a problem over the phone. |

| 582735 | 2007-08-19 10:22:00 | Its not good you smart ass computer geeks mock people who dont know much about computers. Its not their fault they just want the computer to work but dont know how it works. Its a bit like chicks and cars, they dont know **** about cars they expect it to run when they turn the key. If it dosent start or it stops they get b/f, father or mechanic to fix it. Computers bambuzzle both sexes. Companies only do pc phone support because its cheaper than driving to customers place and fixing it. The lady who fixes my lan problems, does not do phone support she drives around, sits down and fixes it. tedheath |

Agreed, although I dont think all of them are just out of school, some of them tried other things for a living then failed miserably because of their inability to work with people, their best friends became computers. For most people the computer either works or doesnt work. As long as these people are good at what they regularly do then its all good. |
