761495 2009-04-01 03:51:00 A young mother from down the road has asked me how she can download and burn a short clip from U-Tube for kindergarten / playcentre, or whatever it’s called these days.

It’s a clip of the three little pigs done to RAP music or something equally outrageous. :groan:

Now this is something I know nothing about, but I told her I knew where to find out. ;)

By the way, I think the clip is in flash format.

So come on guys, this is your chance to help a Lady in Distress. :D

I don’t mind doing it for her if someone can tell me how.

761497 2009-04-01 04:15:00 If you are using FireFox - there is a free plug in that will capture all video including Youtube - here (www.sothinkmedia.com) it saves it in fly format, but there are plenty of free players as well available. wainuitech (129)
761498 2009-04-01 05:04:00 It might be a free download for the trial version.

Free to download and experience the trial version of Web Video Downloader for Firefox! Download streaming videos including flv, swf, wmv, asf, avi, mov, rm, rmvb with ease. Web Video Downloader for Firefox can enable you to download Flash Videos (FLV) from YouTube, Google Video, iFilm and other video sites!

761499 2009-04-01 07:50:00 If its just a one off, then browse to this website and copy+paste the link:
http://vixy.net/

Then download as AVI, means you won't need VLC or FLV codecs, WMP will play it fine

If she's going to use it often, then use the firefox addon VideoDownload helper:
http://www.downloadhelper.net/

Converts too

There is a paid version that does more, but the free one captures 99% of videos with out a problem. Different link but the same product (download.cnet.com) - note - No limitations in the specs. ( current version is 5.2) just updated a day or so ago.

I used csinclair83's link (programme) to download it (because I still have IE6) and Real Player played it just fine.

Smiles all round so a good result. :thanks
