762694 2009-04-06 08:11:00 I have just installed an app on my iPhone called 'Ultimate voice recorder'.
Apparently I have to set up an FTP server to be able to upload the voice recording files to my PC as a way of getting them off my iPhone.

Anyway the app has told me to go to the following url http://192.168.102:58089/ is that a local address that I need to create on my router?

I am a complete newbie with FTP and don't know where to start it's really confusing. I installed fireftp into firefox but the how to's are a little bit vague.

762695 2009-04-06 08:45:00 FTP is a protocol to access a file storage on the Internet.

The application is probably describing a way of uploading the recordings to the Internet rather than to your computer. Try reading further to find out the right way to save the recordings onto the computer.

Cheers :)

762696 2009-04-06 09:00:00 To set up an ftp server using Filezilla, my personal favourite ftp client/server software, follow the tutorial here (lifehacker.com)

You may also need to forward the port 5808 on your router
