762575 2009-04-09 09:40:00 RRP will go for about $1299 but dont quote me on that just yet. sonar (14802)
762576 2009-04-09 10:06:00 For that price one could get a decent notebook with a DVD drive.

BUT...not with 9.5hr battery life:D

762577 2009-04-09 11:35:00 I guess you have to look at what you want it for.

if your somebody who is only going to do word processing and web browsing and doesnt use an ODD ( i myself have not used my DVD drive in over a month) and just wants a light machine to carry around with them without taking the charger then the Eee PC 1000HE is perfect for you.

If your someone who wants a bit more of a powerful machine and need a bigger screen size and dont mind having a shorter battery life and carrying your charger then a 'traditional' notebook is for you.

there are 2 kinds of customers. one who can understand netbooks and those who dont. its really hard to explain the benefits of a netbook to someone who is pro notebook. they just dont get the convienence of having something small you can take along with you.
