| 762156 | 2009-04-04 02:30:00 | Hi everyone! (Again within 24 hours) What do you think I should do? Should I load Ubuntu onto a new computer and live with it until Windows 7 release next year, or should I buy Vista Home basic and put up with it until Windows 7? Note: Either way im going to buy windows 7 next year... Its just which OS i should use until then, Consider the Price as well.... |

| 762157 | 2009-04-04 02:38:00 | Depends on your needs. If ubuntu is sufficient, then get that. And if Home Basic has enough features for you, then get that. I'm currently triple booting Vista, Ubuntu and W7 beta... Getting the best of all three worlds:D And, if you get Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate after July 1st this year, you can get a free upgrade to W7:D Read here for more info: www.mydigitallife.info So you could just dual boot ubuntu and Windows 7 for now, then wait till July then get Vista...your choice:) Blam |

| 762159 | 2009-04-04 03:36:00 | If you're going to be running Win7, then go with XP - you'll have less hassle trying to migrate everything, and you won't have to learn how to use things you'll have no subsequent use for. | Erayd (23) | ||
| 762160 | 2009-04-04 04:48:00 | Ubuntu is free - if you're not gaming then there's no reason not to use it and learning new things is always good | Agent_24 (57) | ||

Actually, since 7 is based on Vista, it'd be easier upgrading to 7 from Vista, as settings will be similar. |

Thats what makes me laugh , many people think W7 Is so much different to Vista - Its NOT, only maybe in performance and some features. |
