585316 2007-08-27 23:32:00 I would rate Acer better than Gateway and both better than Dell. The future of the two companies might come up with something decent in time. Its all market share stuff and $ in the pockets of the shareholders i guess. Bantu (52)

I'm not banking on Dell in a hurry as they are hovering around $30 a share - they used to be $70 a share.
I wouldn't go for Gateway or Acer either.

585318 2007-08-28 03:14:00 Dell's stock price was more than $70 per share but only if you look at pre stock split prices. When adjusted to account for stock splits it peaked in the low $50's. Steven (7085)
585319 2007-08-28 03:19:00 It is currently sitting just under $30 a share - Company market valuation $61.64 billion at close of trade on the NASDAQ today. It's a long way back up to $70 a share. winmacguy (3367)

What??? Do you understand anything you post, it has never been at $70 unless you ignore all the stock splits. It peaked in the low $50's which is half the differance you're pulling out of your ....

585321 2007-08-28 03:45:00 I would not personally buy Acer, Gateway or Dell, nor buy shares in them. Bantu (52)

My appologys Steve, it is still a long way back up to $50 a share. I was getting the share price muddled with the days of their market valuation being $70 billion US which is currently about $10 billion above their current spot.

Agreed and Dell is currently off to a rather sluggish start with its attempt to sell PCs in Walmart Stores deal as well.
