The German automaker has announced a new Music Interface that effectively connects your newly acquired Apple iPhone to the large on-screen display, granting you access to both phone and music functions. www.htlounge.net |

My sister bought a new BMW a few years ago. Finish details on it were early Skoda/Lada standards, Monogrammed BMW floor mats were $150 a set as opposed to $25 for my Toyota. And so on... and so on (and as for an iphone...... no thanks) Ken |

Ken Although I don't own one I would disagree with you on all counts there kenj and not just for the Audi. The most expensive aspect of owning any European car is the servicing a replacement parts - compared to a Jap car, apart from that they should be the same or better for finish, cost effectiveness and longevity. Incidently most people who can afford to own European cars don't often complain about the cost of the extras- if you can't afford to own one get something else. |

| 584576 | 2007-08-25 23:47:00 | European cars and apple stuff require a mindset . If you are the type who shifts automatically into dancing mode when any singing commercial comes on, then you are smack dead center in the market segment . . . . apart from that they should be the same or better for finish, cost effectiveness and longevity . Absolutely true, since they cost much more . In reality, "should" is replaced with "won't" except for selected short periods . If you are one of the enthusiasts for these intermittently pleasant products, can we interest you in this line of clothing from the Emperor's new tailor? Light and environmentally friendly . |

Once again you are wrong . . . I speak from experience in the trade . I used to own one of the first muffler specialty fitting places in NZ (A looong time ago) And I have been in and out of the motor trade for years . A bit of experience in the matter, I feel . Everything to do with Jap stuff used to be easier and cheaper . Odds on as well, they were better finished . I had a neighbour who went to Germany in the 70's to order his new BMW ("as one does" in those days) It arrived here in NZ and the paint job was shocking - heard of "orange peel finish" on paintwork . He was pretty hacked off . They are grossly overpriced when you consider you are really just buying a car that you see thousands just being used as a German taxi . I am not anti European cars, having owned a couple of VW beetles and a Simca in my day . They were very useable vehicles . Continental cars are bought for the same reasons as people who don't have the need for, buy 4wd's . If I want quality, gimme a Lexus any day Ken  |

Not sure about "dancing mode" but I certainly pick up on a decent song in a good advert -Roam -by the B52's in the Subaru ads . Very appropriate for Subaru owners . |

| 584580 | 2007-08-26 05:42:00 | I don't see European cars suffering from a sales decline because they hit a particular price bracket kenj, do you? Horses for courses. The only bit of sense you make here is the, "Horses for courses." remark. Most people are price concious or have to live within a budget. If you don't live within your means then you are on a slippery slope without traction. I think the Macs are very good but I will not buy one ever, due to cost mostly. I can get more bang for my $ when making a PC. Added to that I can put in whatever hardware I want (or can afford). For a similar reasons I would not buy a brand name PC either. I want my O/S of choice and I want a CD with it. Also I wish to use the hard drive as I wish and at full capacity without hidden partitions. Let us not forget the investment in hardware and software I already have. Not to mention expertise I have gained over many years and the time I have invested to do so. We are all on a course in life and some people gamble on the wrong horse. Now this does not mean those people are wrong so long as it fits within their financial means. It appears to me you are on a hobby horse. For some reason I am reminded of this:- You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. Abraham Lincoln, (attributed) 16th president of US (1809 - 1865) www.quotationspage.com I am hoping you will forgive me for not owning an "i" anything. Have sort of the day you deserve. |

We buy what ever fits our needs/budget and makes us happy and productive. :) Different people on different incomes fit different market niches and some companies are very good at developing products that fit those niche markets. Some older companies appear to be being passed by more innovative companies when it comes to filling product niches. The hot products this Christmas will most likely be hand held came devices - probably the Wii and the Xbox due to price affordability and game selection, the new iPod nano due out on 5th September (as well as the rest of the iPod range) and what ever toy companies come out with that appeals to kids. Thanks I had a lazy Sunday.:) |
