585465 2007-08-29 07:58:00 If you were to believe that the pensioner was in the wrong as per the article then it will also be true that she was actually leaving the store, probably in a huff, and the manager approached her - if that is the case he could have handled it better to prevent it escalating to this extent or even let her go. I couldnt imagine she was taking any large accounts with her.

I wonder why they couldnt have spent 2 min actually putting the credit on the phone - it would have looked good to all in the store if they had helped her out, in the end it has cost them bad rap.

Also - Vodafone apologised which indicates they accept this incident happened under their corporate umbrella - not fair but **** happens.

Myth - your analogy makes no sense. Are you saying that First Mobile sell other mobile companies products? If they sell exclusively VF products then they have an agreement to represent VF in the marketplace.

585466 2007-08-29 09:22:00 I did read it and I do realise that First Mobile are franchise - what does that have to do with it? They represent Vodafone dont they - or do they sell mobiles from other companies?
If I need to explain it, it is obviously not worth my doing so but I will try.
You gave the heading of "Vodafone fight with pensioner." which is nowhere near the truth even if the First Mobile store only sell mobiles for the VF network.

Personally, if I were running Vodafone and had reps like First Mobile (after what happened) I'd be looking for new reps Myth (110)

Based purely on this incident I would just put it down to error in judgement - they just had a bad day, both of them. However if this is common occurrence (not fighting but complaints about level of service) as per R2x1 then it would be nervous times for First Mobile when their contract came up for renewal.
