Nice to see that there are companies willing to help consumers out. Computer Lounge is also offering help if you care to read the C1 threads. Some of the people effected by C1 have sent emails to Fairgo, Stuff.co.nz TVNZ and TV3, hopefully they can all get something back out of their losses. --Paste-- "Hi Guys, This may of got lost in the c1 website sells thread but lil post it again here so you all know incase you run into this issue. | 763224 | 2009-04-09 05:33:00 | What has surprised me, is that there hasn't been anything in the media about it, or at least nothing I have heard or seen. I will probably take them a week or two to catch up. That is what disappoints me with NZs media companies, they are very slow. I would have at least expected a PC World story or something in the reseller news, not unless they have done one and I haven't seen it. | robbyp (2751) | ||
2009-04-09 08:04:00 | Even thought it seems C1 has bad service and are the "bad guys" here, I reckon we should feel a little bit of sympathy for them. Its clear they've been affected by the recession very badly, but I think the victim of this crisis are the owners/workers of C1, they've lost their jobs and most probably their ownly source of income. Blam Granted, but they shouldn't have been taking orders, or accepting peoples money, when they had no intention of providing the goods. That could be considered fraud. Peopl are blaming this recession/decression for everything, but I think the fact is with C1, is that their business model was flawed, otherwise all businesses would be falling over.

2009-04-09 08:25:00 | I see where your coming from but a legal transaction is a legal transaction, if they owe money then they gotta pay it, the RMA thing is more of a hassle than anything, hopefully short term though | hueybot3000 (3646) | |
2009-04-09 10:05:00 | I know where you are coming from too, robbyp, as I had an RMA request with them recently, but even though it is fraud, I reckon they only do it because they know they will have no money left. Maybe you buy something from them for 100 dollars and they don't replace your product. Ok-you've lost 100 bucks. They've lost their source of income. I'm not on their side-but I'm just trying to think from their point of view

2009-04-09 10:50:00 | I've lost my job, so I'm going to go and rob a bank? If your company is going out of business, it's still no excuse to defraud innocent customers (assuming the allegations against C1 are true). I see where you're coming from, and agree that it must be tough for the employees who have lost their jobs, and are probably being harassed by angry ex-customers - so of course they deserve our sympathy, as do other people who have lost their jobs due to companies going under. However, if the rumours are true, then the owners deserve absolutely no sympathy.
