586732 2007-08-31 23:57:00 Have purchased for my better half for her birthday a Samsung 2GB Music Player. Great little device, but am unable to find any means of deleting tracks that we have loaded. Unfamiliarity loading music caused us to load some tracks we did not want. No mention of deleting is made in any of the info provided, either in the operating pdf file or on the device itself. Modle is YP Z5F if anyone can help. Yes, I know we could go back to the retailer and probably will do if this post fails to provide any answers.

586733 2007-09-01 00:22:00 Looks like youre right, it doesnt have a delete option.

Does / will it appear in WMP?? Or did it come with a program that recognises it??

Winamp MAY recognise it if you install it, so you can delete whatever.

586734 2007-09-01 01:12:00 Thanks SG, Only program provided was one to install to pc that enabled transfer of music and contained pdf file as previously mentioned. Will try Winamp but it looks as if once music has been installed, end of story. But,,,there is a reset function on the player, that may do it but will have to start from scratch.

586735 2007-09-01 01:26:00 A firmware update MAY do something? Speedy Gonzales (78)
586736 2007-09-01 02:12:00 Does it show up in Explorer as a drive? If so then you can delete files from it as you would for any other storage device. I would steer clear of deleteing folders/directories though. JackStraw (6573)
586737 2007-09-01 02:18:00 Yes it should show up under My Computer as a drive. Double click on its icon and open it up and open the folder if it has one where the tunes are and delete them. I have a Play Station Portable that I use as a MP3 player and that is the only way I can delete tunes from it.

586738 2007-09-01 05:12:00 Better yet..goto My Computer, right click and get into the Manage area, and then to the Disk Management and see if it's there.

I handle all my Sansa Sandisk MP3 files that way...just be sure to "EXPLORE" them with a right click and not a left click.

The Sansa c240 also has on the fly format and delete, something a lot of other more expensive devices cannot do.

586739 2007-09-01 07:34:00 It should show up as a removable drive.
I got my wife the Samsung 1GB version a while ago.
From memory there is no delete option on the actual device, you have to connect it to a PC.

586741 2007-09-03 05:39:00 Update,
Yep, once connected to puter, same as any other storage device, you can do whatever you like with it. Pretty basic really, should have known, but one would think that info would have been included somewhere.
Thanks again to all who replied.
