2007-08-31 22:56:00 | If they wanted to do damage they would attack Linux because it would have a far more crippling effect. I am sorry motorbyclist but if the malicious software writers really wanted to have some effect on what you and I see , BSD and Linux crippled would have far more effect, In reference to servers I presume? Which are entirely different beasts and setups then home pc's, Set up to do one role and then locked down like a fortress. That aside, Code is identified in Linux all that time that would allow malicious attack if in the wrong hands. The fact is that 99 percent of the worlds computers being used by computer illiterate people are Windows machines. Servers do get attacked, No code is perfect, and if its written then it can be manipulated, Granted it may need a couple of additional factors to get the ball rolling, Namely the millions upon millions of average user and the thousands upon thousands of companies trying to fool them. Only a simple minded fool thinks that if those circumstances were applied to other platforms they would be impervious. As an example lets round up 500 Harvey Norman customers and get them to set up a Linux server.

2007-09-01 00:11:00 | See what I mean chaps and chappettes. As I said earlier in this thread, winmacguy is very depressing. I suggested a cure to handle his posts.... "Read his posts, get depressed and then have a couple of ibeers to help cheer you up" Makes life look better for me. Bad on the waistline though. Ken :D

2007-09-01 01:57:00 | I'm still waiting for someone to post some good Windows Vista reviews......(not including the ones from Paul Thurott's Windows Supersite.) | winmacguy (3367) | |
2007-09-01 03:43:00 | No one gives a crap if you have seen a positive vista review or not, Shut up and wise up. I'm yet to see a single post from you yet where you know what your dribbling on about. And if anyone thinks this is a uncalled for, Go over to a Mac site and try posting 100 threads of piffle about crap you don't use., have no idea about, and claim that your preferred is better in every instance. Where the hell is the tar and feathers when you need them?

2007-09-01 05:52:00 | No one gives a crap if you have seen a positive vista review or not You would be amazed at how many people buy products after reading reviews based on other people's favourable experiences of using a product, after all isn't that what people often ask on PF1 when finding out about good free antivirus software, then they decide based on posted feed back.
