586654 2007-09-01 21:47:00 We tend these days to do our own bookings online. However when we have used travel agents we have used the Flight Centre and they have been very good. I think, if I am right, that also they are the only agents these days not to charge a fee, but you would need to check that out.

586655 2007-09-01 21:54:00 Thanks guys. I'm not going to reveal exactly where I'm travelling or why, as it'll make it pretty obvious who I am in real life. somebody (208)

Anyway, I will stop infiltrating your thread, somebody. Good luck with your search though.

586659 2007-09-02 23:54:00 Does anyone have any recommendations for a good travel agent? I am based in Wellington.

I used House of Travel in the AA Centre last March to take the family to Fiji for a week.
As a 1st-time o/seas traveller I wasn't going to risk doing it myself and possibly put us in a difficult position.

I spent hours on their website (which is brilliant), planned heaps of different scenarios and found one we liked and I took it to them and said "I want this please!".

So whilst it may be a bit cheaper to do it all yourself, I was happy to pay extra and leave it to the pro's.

Everything got done, went smooth as. Their service was...perfunctory....but the Agent seemed knowledgeable so I was satisfied.
