586670 2007-09-01 21:29:00 Porn is also the most successful legal business on the net and the first to adopt porn downloads for iPods when the service first became available. It is just that a lot of people don't wish to be associated with porn due to the public stigma. winmacguy (3367)
586671 2007-09-01 22:04:00 As I said in my first post, it will be hard for anyone under 18 to access this material. I don't see what morals have to do with it. They are a company out to make money

No - according to the article they are not making any money out of it. If they are not making money out of it why would they want to do it?

It is also hard for minors to buy alcohol - yeah right.

If Vodafone are donating the 'profits' from the porn material to charity, would these charities want to accept and be associated with a company who is giving them money that they have sourced from porn . It could do the charities more harm than good to be associated with a company that trades in adult material/porn .

If telecom were doing this, they would be ripped apart in the media .

I am sure it is, and I am sure the internet wouldn't be as successfu as it currently is due to the porn industry. But should blue chip companies be stooping to that level. Porn is associated with sleeze.

If you read the article properly, it isn't porn they are selling, it is only X rated material. Porn is XXX. X rated material will be any R18 material showing simulated sex

Did you read what you wrote out loud?

As rob_on_guitar has said - there's enough out there already. Why would a socially responsible company like VF be involved in supplying this sort of material via mobiles (which probably outnumber computers) and which kids can access. (Yes, I know what you're thinking, it is credit card only, but believe me underage kids will access it)

In todays world what may be offered may not be a lewd as whats avail online but again WHY make it available - there is no need.

Did you notice on the news how many people were out on Queen St to watch the Boobs on Bikes parade (previewing the Erotica eXpo - aka Steve Crow)? Most of Queen St with men and women of all ages.
Sex sells.

Whether it is X, or XXX, it doesn't really make any difference in terms of it being adults only, R18 rated, and exploitation of woman. I can't see the womans refuge accepting money from vodafone from money that was earned that way.
