586360 2007-09-03 03:40:00 It is difficult to explain colour to the blind.

Try taking one off stand-by some time (with one of the nurses watching over you) and discover for your self.

Going to have to agree with winmacguy, if you are going to lump all mac users in the same pile, at least state your point

586361 2007-09-03 06:24:00 ...But how long have I had my iMac now? 2 years? and how many trojans viruses. etc. etc. have I had? None. Without an anti virus even....

...
so whats wrong with mac hardware? the way I see it it's some of the best designed stuff in the world...

some people like there computer to actually look nice.. it's nice to be able to leave the damn thing on standby... its nice not to have this huge clunky box in my way all the time. It's really nice to see that someone cares about looks. As far as I'm concerned, macs are one of the best designed personal computers on the market

and, one more thing, mac has all I need to do on it. have you ever thought that some people that buy macs use it for the sake of it's easy multimedia features? That some people dont need half of the crap that you use?when we say macs have all you need, we are looking at the [B]average user.[ so shove that up your pipe and smoke it:blush:

firstly, this all started off because macfan over there can't accept that mac CAN get viruses, and should expect to see them as it's market share increases making it more appealing to virus writers

secondly, who said pcs were ugly? there's such a multitude of options you can not honestly believe all macs look better than all pcs. personally i dislike the current mac style.

thirdly, windows, as you should be aware has a standby and hibernate function also. seriously, it's not exactly groudbreaking technology.

and finally, while mac may have all the software you need, SO DOES WINDOWS, and with windows you have much more freedom to pick and choose what software you use. same again for hardware; you have a choice, and you aren't paying a premium for the ****ty white plastic cover and ibranding

oh, and have use the keyboard to right click, or ditch the 'well designed' mac mouse in favour of a normal one:lol:

No I can't build my own mac(and if I used windows I would have no interest in building windows machine)
I think I got a pretty good computer for less then 2grand.
I run all the software I need to use without windows, I installed windows because I could, same reason a linux user might dual boot windows(because they can).
Don't need the keyboard to right click, the "well designed" mouse your talking about is quite usable.

586364 2007-09-03 06:55:00 with a single button? i find a right click, mouse wheel and several other features to be quite useful motorbyclist (188)

I don't want to build my own machine either, I just wanted to get one, plug it in etc put on what ever additional software I need and go. I have XP Pro installed but use it very rarely as I now have the apps and codecs I need for what I want to do.
Incidently keyboard short cuts combined with mouse clicks are actually much faster (where applicable) than using the file/toolbar menu.

sure.

Your hardware options
Your software options.

And yes, Options are good.

Considering there are plenty of both for the Mac platform I am still waiting for someone to identify specific hardware/software limitations (preferably by name).

3 styles of consumer machines with 2/4/3 different configurations respectively.
I think thats what Metla was trying to say.
As for software I would have to disagree with Metla except on the game front.
