| 586340 | 2007-09-02 11:36:00 | Sorry, I didn't realise you had totally flipped your lid. If its so unamazing (for gods sake man, is their anything in this world more boring and unamazing then an OS?...wow, its a layer of software between my hard ware and applications....FAR OUT) then why are you unable to shut up about something you don't use. Its as logical as me rounding up all the anti-mustang comments I can find and posting them (along with copious amounts of dribble) on an American muscle car forum...all from the comfort of my Toyota....which I would have to mention how good that is every 3 sentences. Unless, Your just playing me, in which case well done. Metla you've also got to realize that all their applications AND their hardware comes from the same company. We can do so much with our applications and hardware in terms of scalability and the ability to customize it, we hardly think of OS'. Macboys HAVE to love it because all they can do and use comes from Apple bar few third party apps. |

The only apps I use that are made by apple are the ones that came bundled with the machine. Every other app is third party. As for hardware my printer is a brother, external drive is Lacie and camera from canon |

Yes i have parallels installed, not used it. Yes I have dual booted XP, which I was going to use but decided not to bother as of yet. Although I do want to test out a program called super on it. |

| 586344 | 2007-09-02 12:50:00 | so why install it? why pay for two operating systems? that way you're still locked into mac hardware and still have the virus risk on the windows install, and you're paying a premium for all of it! answer: mac DOES NOT have all you need on it, it is still too small a platform; so stop raving on about how you can just use icrap and get a life! |

Actually was given both bits of software, I don't bother running AV on xp on the mac, it's just there for the hell of it, and certainly wouldn't pay for it. |

| 586348 | 2007-09-02 19:57:00 | hang on, i just got to the security thing and ive only got one thing to say. We all know that macs have viruses. I seriously doubt there will ever be a computer programme that is un-hackable. But how long have I had my iMac now? 2 years? and how many trojans viruses. etc. etc. have I had? None. Without an anti virus even. The reason for the Mac security myth is that macs can be pulled straight out of the box, switched on, and they just work. I dont need to listen to security center whining, I dont need to install the Norton Trial, which should note that it's going to make your computer slower than ever haha. my 2 cents. and a half |
