| 586954 | 2007-09-01 22:16:00 | Received an HP Pavilion (specs 1.1Ghz 128MB SD-RAM, onboard graphics). OS was XP home, with all the nice graphic enhancements still in place. Talk about slow :horrified And it had Nortons :dogeye: No exaggeration, I turned it on, it took 6 minutes to fully bootup (including finding a usb mouse) HP, what the hell were you guys thinking? (Ok I know the specs are above what MS said were the minimum, but we all know that MS under-estimate a lotttttttttttt of things - badly) |

| 586955 | 2007-09-02 01:24:00 | Seriously, theres nothing wrong with those specs at all. I used to run XP Pro with all the bells and whistles on a 700Mhz Celeron with 184MB of RAM. Took about 2 mins to start up and I was OK with that. You want a speed boost, take away Norton and I bet you'd knock atleast 2-3 mins of that time. BTW, what else can you see that is running at startup? |

| 586956 | 2007-09-02 01:38:00 | yeah, that fairly typical of HP/Compaq/Dell etc. they make very low spec budget pc's that run VERY VERY slow. the biggest culprit is the ram. not only is it way to small for XP, i'm assuming its one of the early p4's that came out with sdram which crippled an allready slow cpu. | tweak'e (69) | ||
