585747 2007-08-28 22:53:00 When I connect to Xtra dialup I use their 087 number. But does anyone know if they have an 0800 equivilent? I tried to call them but their wait time is currently estimated as an hour!

Thanks.

585748 2007-08-28 22:54:00 I don't think so, but I could be wrong...what do you want one for? wratterus (105)
585749 2007-08-28 22:57:00 Do you mean the Helpdesk?

That was 0800-225-598 last time I used it.

585750 2007-08-28 22:59:00 Aren't the "08" dialup numbers the equivalent of 0800? PaulD (232)
585751 2007-08-28 23:44:00 I don't think so, but I could be wrong...what do you want one for?I'm away from home, down in Napier for a few days (it's hell being here, with extremely comfortable accomodation in
bright sunshine and 20 degrees temperature!) and have to use my dialup account. The motel we're staying at charges business rates per minute for 087 access from the unit, but apparently if I dial in with an 0800 number there's a chance that the motel's telcom provider (CallPlus) won't charge a surcharge.

Sadly even though I'm away from home/work I need at least a few hours per day Internet access to manage my habit, um, er, I mean my work obligations. I don't like having to pay a dollar per ten minutes when connecting at an archaic 28bps.
