764359 2009-04-12 21:12:00 I'm with slingshot for broadband, they are ok.

I'm considering the new offerings from ORCON and SLINGSHOT
Which one should I go with?

Both of their websites are absolutely appalling, they need to get a real designer, it's almost impossible to get simple comparison data out of them as to the difference between their own actual plans. In short:

fine print
what do you get for your dollar
whether it's worth paying for more services

Their websites are terrible.
There is no plan comparison data
Their are no PDF brochures
Their are no text pages with a simple HTML table of comparison between plans, but then maybe that is so you unwittingly spend more money than you have to.

All I can say is sigh.

Is anyone able to enlighten me?
Does any one have experience of:

slingshot - the next big thing
orcon - home+

All help, ideas etc... gratefully received.

764360 2009-04-13 00:51:00 Eh? Orcons is easy, you click on Orcon at Home, then click "See all plans" on the left which takes you:
www.orcon.net.nz

No idea about Slingshot, I dont even bother these days, pretty much JUST orcon :)

764361 2009-04-13 02:20:00 I'm with Slingshot and really not impressed.

A quick look at the internet section of their forums (forums.slingshot.co.nz) will send you running for Orcon.

764362 2009-04-13 03:21:00 Orcon.

They can stuff around getting you hooked up in the first place but just contact the Contact Centre Supervisor - Russell if there is any hassle.
After that its all painless.

I have customers on Slingshit and they are less than impressed.

764364 2009-04-13 05:36:00 I do like Slingshots free downloading between 1am-7am for um...downloading open source stuff....

But it seems quite expensive. I think Orcon is the better option here-better service than slingshot too, from what I've heard.

And it won the PCWorld Best ISP survey...so there's definetly a reason Orcons better than slingshot
