588836 2007-09-07 05:55:00 I spotted these today and they may be of help to some Linux users with a new installation to get all those personal touches added:

Guides to Perfect Desktops:

Fedora 7 (www.howtoforge.com)

PCLinuxOS 2007 (www.howtoforge.com)

Ubuntu Studio 7.04 (www.howtoforge.com)

Mandriva 2007 Spring Free (Mandriva 2007.1) (www.howtoforge.com)

Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn (www.howtoforge.com)

Debian Etch (Debian 4.0) (www.howtoforge.com)

I think the title of "Perfect Desktop" is stretching it a little, and the authors seem to install more than one app that does the same job, but there are plenty of helpful tips. :)

Thanks Jen, I have been using most of these distros and being a newbie to Linux, everything helps.

You should see my new XP install :p

But seriously... if you're thinking of giving Linux a go and coming from a comfy Windows environment, try PCLinuxOS- it's almost there as a Windows replacement (Don't try installing on a SATA2 drive though!)
