587504 2007-09-03 15:18:00 OK..they changed it and this time it is really nasty as it peels over the whole page..so anything the tower-dwellers say is totally suspect and a big fat lie.

So..as they change the code..let's keep the blocks running here.

Here's the current line to plug into ABP to get rid of the peely-nasty:

vs20060817.com

Add this too just for good measure: vs20060817.com

587505 2007-09-03 20:37:00 Oh man, before I had no problem with it, but I just peeled it and it revealed a fat guy with no shirt on! Yuck! --Wolf-- (128)
587506 2007-09-03 20:57:00 Hooray for Adblock! :D pcuser42 (130)
587507 2007-09-03 21:25:00 This still blocks it:
/*remove ads and misc branding clutter */
.fairfax_nav,
#jcornerSmall,
#jcornerBig,
#advert-banner,
#header,
#navigation,
#page-peel-right-6,
.tfoot,
table[width="160"],
td[width="170"],
td[width="300"],
div[align="center"] a[target="_new"],
div[onmouseover="peel()"],
img[alt="PC World Forums"],
embed[name="jcornerSmallObject"],
embed[umode="transparent"],
div embed,
object
{display: none;}

/* hide the clock & post times */
td.thead {visibility: hidden;}
td.thead a, td.thead[align="right"] {visibility: visible; background-image: none;}
span.time, div.smallfont[align="center"] {display: none;}
table.tborder {background: url("pressf1.co.nz) 0 0 repeat-x;}

[edit: I just took a look at the new peel-me, and it now appears to have a workaround for the Linux clients - it's still a blob, but it's now tiny unless hovered over. Cheers guys, I can live with that :D]

587509 2007-09-03 22:14:00 It does? I have my sound muted, so I wouldn't know :rolleyes:. Does it play just when hovered over, or even when it's lurking in the corner? Erayd (23)
587510 2007-09-03 22:37:00 I have Adblock Plus and NoScript for firefox, I think NoScript may help in blocking it also Agent_24 (57)

I'm just using NoScript at the moment. Never seen the evil peel-me! :lol:

587513 2007-09-03 23:00:00 Aaah, but NoScript also kills a lot of useful features on this site, such as AJAX quickreply, multiquote etc. Erayd (23)
