587381 2007-09-03 01:40:00 Hi all, Ive created a spreadsheet for the Rugby World Cup if anyones interested. This is similar to the Football one I did. The spreadsheet is totally free and just done for the love of the game and will contain no advertising.

Download from http://paramore.rwc.googlepages.com/

587383 2007-09-03 01:59:00 Wow! It kinda blows away the one I made recently. Can't find the post for it.

Perry, how does the Update Scores From The Web button work, and how do you activate all the options in real time?

Awesome stuff though!

587384 2007-09-03 02:03:00 Hi Greg, it works by using a simple QueryTable (Data|Import External Data| Web Query) to paramore.rwc.googlepages.com so I just refresh this query (contained in a hidden sheet) when you click the button.

Graham

587385 2007-09-03 02:09:00 Ah - what I wanted to know was how to make the buttons function - I tried to do it by disabling macros altogether but I find they have to be enabled for the buttons to work.

Ps - is it possible to disable the audio feature (National Anthems) altogether?

Pps - I found a bug already - when I click the Update Scores button if already fills in some results despite no games having been played yet. (My Excel is 2003)

Yes for Macros to work they must be enabled. If you dont want national anthems then just dont click on the flag :-)

The scores are not a bug. They are part of some testing I have done and Ive left them there so people can have a play and see what the various buttons do. I will clear these results later this week.

Graham

[edit] Thanks. Fantastic stuff!

587388 2007-09-03 02:20:00 I have Excel 2007 and when I click on some buttons, like the update scores from the web, all the country flags suddenly become big and take over a lot of the screen.
Or when I tried to view the RWC History and clicked on 1991 the same thing happens.
Probably a 2007 issue. :badpc:

Hi, sorry about that. Ive only got Excel 2003 at home so cant tell if it will work on any other version. If I find someone who has 2007 I will be able to fix it but unfortunately MS often don't think of compatibility when they release new versions of Excel.

Graham
