You don't realise how far we have fallen behind the rest of the world until you go to visit countries that traditionaly have been worse than ours and find them better. Really, NZ is no longer 1st world, either because first world countries have moved on so much in the last few decades, or because we have activly declined as a country. From our income, to our housing, to roading, to services, to vehicle fleet etc, etc we are falling off the back of the first world pack. |

I read a survey that 78% of all surveys were fictitous due to bias by the company paying to conduct the survey (including this one because I made it up) I was not born here but agree with you. There is no place better. For those that choose to leave and say otherwise probably have good reason. Isnt it great that we can choose. |

Because of the smaller numbers we have less to invest in infrastructure and services . Have you ever driven our main highway right through? We have only just got rid of a double decker one way bridge in the South Island, and the quality of the road is often 2nd or even 3rd rate to other countres . The great blessing of NZ is the low population rate, but it is also the greatest drawback as well, for industry and other fields . |
