764645 2009-04-13 09:59:00 Want some open source, or closed-source freeware video editing software to chop up the avi's of my car and stitch them together, throw a soundtrack over the top and then convert to a upload-friendly format/size.

I don't think I like Windows Movie Maker based on the two times I used it to make a quick vid.

Windows XP Pro BTW

764646 2009-04-13 10:06:00 You should be able to do it easily with this:
http://www.jumpcut.com/
or
www.adobe.com

Or, for somethings more sophisticated and not web based:
fixounet.free.fr
www.debugmode.com
www.thugsatbay.com

Cheers

764651 2009-04-18 09:46:00 i would like a video editor similar except i would like it to edit MPEGs and lets me edit out ads in the video captures. i have used MPEG VCR which is good however seting the date back to august last year is a bit of a pain if you want to edit videos (which was before the evaluation expired) williamF (115)
764652 2009-04-18 12:33:00 virtualdub or virtualdubmod.

it sounds like itl do exactly what you want, once you get used to it. Look on sourceforge. If youre running linux there is KINO which I havent tried.
