2007-09-07 04:29:00 | Hi Guys Do you think it was worth paying Theresa Gattung the 5 million final pay to get rid of her so we may be able to get a CEO interested in providing good service. He starts at the end of September. All she and Rod Deane before her were interested in was lining the shareholders pockets and putting in as little investment as possible I see the latest Commerce Commission Report out today, shows we are still nearly at the bottom of the OECD 30 nations for broadband speeds and prices and also mobile phone calls to and from landlines and also land line prices ! Thats not bad being bottom in all these categories ! Vodaphone and Telstra Clear are not helping much either ! Regards Digby

2007-09-07 04:46:00 | Personally I don't think she was even worth half that  but unfortunately she would have had something worked into her original CEO contract that stipulated some form of "executive renumeration package" regardless of how well the rest of the country thought that she performed. Clever financial controllers can work wonders with finances to make just about anyone look like they are doing a great job, and Gattung did make lots of money for Telecom and its shareholders - which is what she was obligated to do - never mind providing a decent service for the people of NZ:eek: | winmacguy (3367) | |
2007-09-07 05:23:00 | And the current board want to return $2.1 billion in capital back to shareholders instead of investing it in infrastructure. Yes, what a change indeed. | beeswax34 (63) | |
2007-09-07 07:03:00 | 5 million what a waste of money for one usless humam being. 5 mill would go a long way for food for poor hungry kids. She is the most scum person in nz for accepting the money. She made nz the worst country in oecd for cellie calls. 30 out of 30. tedheath

2007-09-07 07:24:00 | Who cares about starving kids? That money could go towards upgrading the "museum piece" servers at some of the Telecom exchanges to give us better broadband. | winmacguy (3367) | |
2007-09-07 07:31:00 | I wonder if all those people who now leave Telecom after 10 years will get a big payout?? I think not. Just the usual "good bye" | paulw (1826) | |

2007-09-07 07:40:00 | Uh.....who? You've got to be joking. She was the former CEO of Telecom and quit about 1-2 months ago. Famous for "misleading customers" and investing zilch in the infrastructure or customer service at the company.
