| 765171 | 2009-04-15 04:00:00 | I've got a XP Pro PC here that has downloaded the WGA tool via Windows update, but it refuses to install. It runs itself on reboot, and then just sits at about 75% progress and won't go any further (on all the other PC's I've seen, this whole thing takes around 10 seconds to install normally!) I've successfully run the Windows validation tool from the Microsoft website, so there's no issue there, but how do I prevent the update running on every reboot? |

If the latter: www.softpedia.com Blam It's the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications - Installation Wizard (phew!). I ran that tool, which said it had found the above, and would remove on reboot. I've rebooted, and the tool can no longer find WGAN installed, but the installation is still wanting to run on reboot?? :badpc: |
