Stick in it in the fridge:p Is there any chance of you actually noticing that the OP has in fact extracted data off the possibly failing hard drive? How much data I don't know. |

I have worked in data recovery, putting a hard drive in the fridge will more often kill it than fix it. the logic of the fridge was to help a stuck main bearing, this can work sometimes if the drive won't spinup but the problem is that you then get moisture in the drive and that is very bad. drives are cheep, if in doubt replace the drive. get any data you can off the drive as soon as you think it going bad. and backup. backup backup backup. |
