765090 2009-04-14 20:11:00 I was using Adobe Premier Elements 4. But it came bundled with software for my Sanyo Xacti video camera. Now I try to install it on my new PC, it prompts for a key, which I haven't got and apparently, now I have to purchase the software.

The camera takes h.264 or MP4 video, which is not compatible with Windows Movie Maker, unless I convert. But I'd rather retain the format the camera uses.

My needs for video editing are extremely simple, just a matter of a bit of sorting, a bit of cutting out, then burning to DVD.

Anyone got any ideas about software that might suit?

Premier Elements is old and would not handle h.264 anyway.

Nero Vision would do it from about version 8 onwards.

Only diff is, version 8 has better templates in it, if you want menus as well

You could try cdburner and dvdflick (this may load those formats), and convert them to dvd format. Then you can burn them with cdburner

I'm actually trying DVDflick, because it's free and my requirements are really simple.

765095 2009-04-15 11:34:00 Whatever software came with the camera should work with it and support its formats, likewise, any serial number needed would have come with it too.

It should be printed on the CD sleeve/case or on the manual, or maybe any other packaging related to the camera.

If you lost the CD key you could get another one by use of a key generator or such.

Some people may not like that but you're not doing any damage as long as you actually did purchase the software.

Just in the same way I have no issue with burning CDs for backup purposes incase the original (paid for one) is damaged, or the use of a no-CD crack so you're not risking scratching the CD by handling it every time you want to load the game.
