590002	2007-09-10 22:21:00	Has anyone bought one of those battery can openers currently advertised on TV. We have a hand operated side opening which works in a similar manner but my wife sometimes finds it difficult to turn because of her arthritis but am sceptical the battery versions would have the "torque" to do a consistent job. Comments from current users please not those suggesting I open all the cans!!	bonzo29 (2348)
590003	2007-09-10 22:46:00	I haven't got a battery can opener but I did used to have an electric one years ago until it broke (it was cheap). I would recommend an electric one over battery and get a good name brand one. The cutter part is the most important part as if it blunts easily it becomes just as hard to use as a hand opener. You could try contacting the arthritis society or similar for advice on suitable can openers for your wife. They have information on and access to lots of gadgets that make life easy for arthritis sufferers.	FoxyMX (5)

590005	2007-09-11 00:45:00	I don't know what one's are on Tv, but we have battery one, "One Touch Can Opener" that is fantastic. Ours was ex Warehouse at $50.00 but notice Healthpride.net.nz have similar, or may be the same, for $25.00. I also have arthritus, but since we bought this one, my wife enjoys it the most.
