In that box, is a link named "Private Messages" Sorry, when I try to send a private message it tells me I have turned off this facility and that I will have to edit my profile. Did all this but can't see where I can turn private messages on. If I knew beforehand I would have to go through such paraphernalia I would never have started this thread. Thanks for your help anyway. |

| 590668 | 2007-09-14 02:10:00 | Why then should I have to pay the hiring company good money when I can't play their darned disks ??? Did you go back to the hiring company and complain to them that you cant play one of there DVD players? |

| 590669 | 2007-09-14 08:11:00 | I think this thread has just being going in circles with nothing really being solved. You don't have these DVDs that won't play any more to determine the exact error message, thus making it difficult to decipher this issue with only half of the evidence to go on. My conclusion I don't believe this DVD hire company would be hiring out any pirated DVDs. I wouldn't take any error message from WMP as hearsay. I don’t know of any DVD Player that can detect a pirated DVD - Regardless of what the Philips tech says. |

| 590671 | 2007-09-14 09:01:00 | Well Heaton I think you have been very polite and reasonable with your question. The people trying to help are just a bit frustrated because there isn't quite enough information. You'd need to get hold of one of these non-playing DVDs to tell us more. I can only say that copied DVDs will not play (so I've observed ;) ) in a portable DVD player my son's friend has. I was surprised. DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. |

Sorry but I think I have given all the information that it is possible to give if you read all the previous posts. I cannot get one of the DVD's because I have returned them to the hiring company and terminated my account with them. If I had known I was going to be subjected to so much interrogation about things. which I consider irrelevant to the original question I would never have originated this post. I thank all those who have genuinely endevoured to help |

I thank all those who have genuinely endevoured to help I apologise for this, and for being somewhat short with you earlier. In answer to your original post, I don't think it is a common occurance, and therefore some of us automatically moved to try and diagnose the problem, which starts getting a bit difficult when the original poster (I'm speaking in general terms here) doesn't really care about diagnosing it. |
