ATI Radeon HD3850 AGP $256.33>The best AGP graphics card out:thumbs:
ATI Radeon HD3650 AGP $164.14
1GB DDR400 ram $63.43 x 2 = $126.86

So 3850 $256.33 and 2 gig ddr400 ram $126.86 = $389.19
Or 3650 $164.14 and 2 gig ddr400 ram $126.86 = $291.00

The upgrade will make a big improvement from what you have now for not much money.

Or save up more money for a new pc;new ram ddr3,new motherboard, new graphics card pcie, new cpu.

765430 2009-04-16 10:48:00 If you look at price spy be VERY careful - many times the shops dont have stock - its better to go to a well trusted place with good service ( ascent is good) - one example of bad service and cheap pricing on price Spy, C1 - now closed and ripped many people off.

Keeping with the posters original post
keeping in mind that I can only use $200.

765431 2009-04-16 11:57:00 Of course you would ring/email shops to see if they have what you want in stock first before buying it!!!

And of course you would buy from a shop that has a good reputation.-(Ascent,Computer Lounge,PlayTech, etc.)

With pricespy you use it to compare prices from different shops and see what price they are selling at and get price matching done from a good shop.

Yeah I know he said he has only $200 to spend but I was informing him what else he could get to make his computer better ie. more ram.

For just $200 get a 3650 AGP graphics card but you still need ram as well for gaming so of course you would have to buy that as well and so you need more then $200 to make the computer better for gaming.

As you can see in my post I had given options on two different graphics cards and 2 gig ddr400 ram which when added together in either options came to over $200.

Just trying to give the poster options and what he/she could do to make the computer better or like I also posted before about what he/she would need for a new pc.

After all Pressf1 is about helping people after all, right?

I could have just posted get a 3650 AGP,but I did not I spent more of MY time and did a better post then that trying to help the poster and now this as well.:)

765432 2009-04-16 22:12:00 Nothing wrong with giving options I do it all the time, only problem is sometimes people expectations are higher than their budget. And if you have a limited budget you are limited to what you can purchase.

Just got off the phone from this guy who rang to renew his Nod32 He purchased from me - then said he wanted a top of the line PC to replace his 4 year old current one, he was told by a "mate" that he should get a HD4870 X2 graphic card, with a i7 CPU, 4 GB RAM - and at least a 1000W PSU, Samsung T260 Monitor.

I asked if he had a budget, so I could chop and change/offer different cases etc - he said at least $2000 , maybe could stretch to $2300 - he was rather disappointed that its not enough money. So I'm going around tomorrow with options relating to his budget.
