590275 2007-09-12 04:05:00 Shops should be open 6 am to midnight every day of the year.

They should be open when customers want to buy. Not when shopkeepers feel like opening their doors.

590278 2007-09-12 05:41:00 Im not really use to the opening hours in new zealand

As I've been in hong kong and used to the shopping hours there thats from 8am to around 12pm.

I am not use to the silence during nights and I really am not use to people getting drunk...

Hmm... But don't blame NZ as its a different country.Different lifestyle

590279 2007-09-12 06:38:00 You want to be open at a time so that people finishing work have time to drop off or pick up their computer.

10-6 Tues-Friday
10-4 Sat

Late night shoppers go to malls, not computer shops normally.

The real issue is to be there when your stated hours say you will be.

People get irate otherwise, But then you get the fun of telling them to go way. That shuts them up.

I had mine open from 9 to 6 weekdays, But that was so I wasn't in the house to help with tea or to bath the kid.

I was open Saturdays until 2pm, I would be lucky if I had 1 customer....

That's fine for a large shop, but for a one-(wo-)man band pctek should take her work/life balance into account.

Don't live to work, work to live...

590282 2007-09-12 07:02:00 Hmm. The 10-6 idea appears to be winning.
sigh......I know how that goes, did it before...........

Get home at 6:30. Clean up pigsty from husbands day. Feed animals, put washing on, do dishes, clear tables, cook meal, do dishes, continue with washing......fold clothes, repeat next day....

I always found Sat quiet too in various places......I could do Mon - Fri 10 - 6 then....................

590283 2007-09-12 07:13:00 I would suggest something like Tues-Fri - 9.30 or 10-5.30 and then on Sat - 9-12 Myth (110)
