#1 worst thing to happen to music is rap. End of story.

I disagree! Just because you do not listen to a particular type of music doesnt mean its bad... I dont listen to rap myself but never thought of it as useless music. But i guess everyone is entitled to their opinions..

589165 2007-09-08 07:39:00 Nothing wrong with some of the original RAP artists.
I enjoy listening to Run DMC every now and then.
Also like listening to Body Count but they have some metal in there as well.
Public Enemy are good too but haven't listened to them in a while.
Even my dad likes all of the above! And he's 60!

589166 2007-09-08 08:06:00 Rap has its place, any music (though the term would have to be loosly applied as the form is devoid of all musical and vocal ability) that a community makes has merit, Though it all turns to poo when the record companies use it to whore out a billion copy cat songs/artists, easy to do as its product by numbers, no talent required (to make the dribble product) The same applies for all the genres raped for money, Though some musical talent (mostly a tiny tiny tiny bit) is usually required for other types of music.

Such as anything that has music or singing in it.

If Rap is generally written off as worthless it is for good reason, Even if it started somewhere legit.

589169 2007-09-08 10:08:00 The Heep made 3 or 4 half good records 30 years ago, then 30 albums of absolute crap. What ever legacy they may have had they ruined.

And I bet everyone is thankful I'm not opinionated when it comes to music....:xmouth:

Yes, a nasty one in David Copperfield.

The band chose the name for its distinctiveness, not as a recommended model of behaviour.
