766616 2009-04-20 23:11:00 Neither. :) In my opinion apple equipment is too overpriced to make it a really viable contender, but if you want an apple, go get one that looks nice, there's not a huge science involved in choosing one as there are not multiple manufacturers like windows laptops have.

If you want a windows laptop, get an Asus or Toshiba. Vaio have one of the highest failure rates of any laptop manufactuer, and repairs are very expensive.

What do you want the laptop for? Is there a cost/size restriction?

766617 2009-04-20 23:13:00 No, I'm just looking for a good computer, good graphics, etc

Yeah, I want one up to 2000$ NZD and 15"

766618 2009-04-20 23:14:00 Well the major difference is one will run OSX and the other will run Windows, probably Vista.

If you've narrowed your choices down to those 2 laptops, you should choose the one with the operating system you like the most.

However, you can still install windows on the macbook using boot camp, and its specifications look better than the other one.

766619 2009-04-20 23:15:00 Welcome to PressF1, Thomas. The real question you should be asking yourself is "What will I be using the notebook for?" closely followed by "How available and expensive are the program I will need to use on the notebook?".

This being a primarily PC-oriented forum, most answers may lean towards the Vaio....

Buena suerte!

766620 2009-04-20 23:17:00 Sorry, but what is boot camp, I'm learning English for 3 months, and, you have to pay for this boot camp?

Edit:

Is possible to upgrade 2gb to 4gb RAM and the Hard Drive 120gb to 160gb in the Mac Book?

www.apple.com
en.wikipedia.org(software)

It's a feature that comes with OSX. It's free (as long as you have OSX obviously)

I don't know if you can upgrade the memory and hard drive on the Macbook.
