| 765960 | 2009-04-17 13:18:00 | trying to run win 2k & xp on separate hdds. win 2k simply will not detect internal intel 536 modem, thinks it is an external 1 on com 1 or 2 and nothing will change its mind. on xp modem did work after a fight now ignores it. the wizard shows the relevant setup screen with dial up greyed out, could be xp permission thing? as cannot install anything else. even tried a system reset it went through all the motions but said cant do it. |

| 765962 | 2009-04-17 20:09:00 | If the dialup option is greyed out in the connection wizard do the following to restore it. Open Regedit (Start --> Run --> regedit --> ok) Navigate to HKey_Local_Machine --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> Services --> Rasman --> PPP --> EAP Left click on EAP there should be 4 keys > 13,4,25,and 26 Delete the keys 25 and 26 Reboot the PC Try to setup a new connection, dialup option should now be available. |
