Got what looks like a cockroach, but not one I've seen before.
I'm used to those green, fast buggers found in food businesses.

Your wee fella looks like a Platyzosteria novaeseelandiae (www.landcareresearch.co.nz). :D

591715 2007-09-16 09:46:00 So, from Jen's wonderful piccies, yours is definitely the Gisborne variety (the light bits around the gills are the give away)... not usually a pest unless crawling over your face while you are sleeping :horrified Shortcircuit (1666)

591717 2007-09-16 09:50:00 ... yours is definitely the Gisborne variety (the light bits around the gills are the give away)... Ah, I didn't notice the racing stripes down each side ... mind you, I was trying not to look too hard. :xmouth: Jen (38)
591718 2007-09-16 10:25:00 In Jen's natty instructions for bugs set, it says "Order : Blattodea (www.landcareresearch.co.nz)".

Wouldn't that be more correctly stated as "Splatt : Oh dear, (order new bug)"?

591719 2007-09-16 11:28:00 I used to be a little afraid of spiders, but in comparison with cockroaches, they are positively delightful creatures!!
Ugh!! Never mind the ozone layer, it's black flag at 2 paces.
