Alternatives are: - speak to him nicely and seek co-operation - call noise control My daughter had a neighbour who would hold weekend parties - start Friday, finish sometime Sunday if everyone was lucky. 100 or more people at a time with loud music. The landlord wasn't interested (to put it mildly!) so she started ringing noise control (along with one or two others in the block). The first call was before 10pm so they didn't visit. It took several parties for them to learn the system. Noise control can appear slow to act. First call early in the evening may or may not bring a response. By the time they are onto the second or third call they will visit and ask him nicely to turn it down. If there are regular complaints they react more and more strongly. First a fine then confiscation of gear - at any hour of the day or night. The neighbours quickly got the message once noise control had them on their black list. |

She's a good girl and I have no idea why the police wouldn't listen to her. She told me there was a body in the car at the end of the street last week but I thought she was joking. The press were sitting on the car as I drove past on monday and for the first time ever she barked out of the car window, weird. Yup, I live in "THAT" street. www.nzherald.co.nz And you think your neighbours are crazy? |

I haven't yet as Ive hardly been home due to helping my mother move . Yep, It is a rental and I could possibly talk to landlord but will use it as a last resort . Haven't had the guts to do it just yet . Such a chicken but I think I might see how grrrrr I feel tomorrow . If it doesn't work . . . . I'm going to crank up some death metal with my bass on full and hopefully he will get the hint . |

| 592247 | 2007-09-23 12:21:00 | I've used John Denver at full volume a few times on the kids - can't stand some of the present day pretense at music that they've played at full volume on their stereos. I've retaliated so loud that I have had to evacuate the house and listen to it from the garden. It has always worked. Complete silence from their rooms. I also read ages ago about a supermarket overseas (UK? USA?) that had regular problems with the local louts in the carpark every weekend. They finally found the solution. Piped music in the carpark at night. Cliff Richards. The kids found somewhere else to go and the problems ceased. |

(can't remember what she played though) Al I done was turn mine up louder (had my window rattling a lot, much more it would have cracked ) till she turned hers off  | The_End_Of_Reality (334) | ||
