Then you used Wubi.

I think what probably happened, is it broke your boot.ini file. It's probably pointing to the wrong partition or something.

it should have made a backup of the file too. If you replace it, you won't be able to boot ubuntu but you'll be able to boot windows again.

So how can I restore the original boot.ini file?

766450 2009-04-20 05:22:00 Wubi should have created a file boot.bak or similar in the same drive as the boot.ini (probably C:\)

No doubt it's probably the only other boot.something file in there apart from boot.ini so it should be easy to find.

So take your current boot.ini and rename it to boot.new or something just incase the old one fails to work, then rename the backup created by wubi to boot.ini and restart.

or you could open both of them in notepad, try to figure out what went wrong and fix it manually.
