766030 2009-04-17 23:39:00 I haven't got my head around this new Vista system on my lappie. I'm prepared to let it run for a while, but the frustrating thing is it takes more than a minute to load, compared to my desktop's XP which is about 30 seconds.

Any suggestion to speed it up please?

Vista on my main system performs much quicker than Vista on my older P4 machine with 512MB RAM.

766035 2009-04-18 01:11:00 that's why you upgrade the ram at purchase, then there is no problem GameJunkie (72)
766036 2009-04-18 02:21:00 The machine came with 2 gigs RAM. My XP desktop only has 1 gig. Greg (193)
766037 2009-04-18 02:59:00 To get a rough idea where problems might lie, hold down the Windows key, towards the bottom left next to control, and press the Pause/Break key - see what sort of ratings your machine has and click on the Windows Experience Index for components. Scouse (83)
766038 2009-04-18 03:25:00 Download HijackThis (www.trendsecure.com) and post a log here.

Chances are, there's a large amount of crapware on your startup.
