2009-04-25 10:26:00 | The Antec 300 comes with 2 front 120mm fans and 1 140mm fan plus room for more. And as Stormdragon said, it comes with an IO shield for the mobo so you don't have to worry about that Blam Unless they changed their shipping configuration, the Three Hundred comes with a 140mm (top) exhaust and a 120mm (rear exhaust). The two supplied are 'tri-cool' fans with a 3 way switch so you can choose sound vs cooling ratio. There is space for 2 120mm intakes fans in the front - great for cooling the hard drives - (not supplied), and one 120mm in the case side (over the normal video card location - again not supplied). I purchased and fitted 2 120mm front fans to my set-up so I'm running 4 case + my gpu & cpu (Xiggy). It's not what I'd call annoying (I barely notice it) - although it is audible - I'd call it 'background whisper'. And Blam's 100% correct on the IO shield.

2009-04-25 17:36:00 | Scythe have a very good range of quiet case fans that do cost a bit but they are quality. Scythe Slip Stream, Case Fan, 120mm, 500rpm The Scythe Slip Stream 120mm Fan uses a highly efficient nine-bladed design that comes close to achieving a 4:1 airflow to noise ratio! The Slip Stream's aerodynamic design grants it 20 ~ 40% more airflow than similar fans. 120 x 120 x 25mm, Sleeve bearing 3-pin connector (4-pin adaptor included) 500 RPM / 7.50 dBA / 24.50 CFM Thats just one of many good case fans from Ascent. You could get what ever case you like and if its fans are to loud then get some Scythe case fans or some other brand to make it better. www.ascent.co.nz Or you could get a fan controler!!! www.ascent.co.nz :):2cents:

2009-04-25 23:32:00 | If you want fans I can vouch for them Scythe SlipStreams. I've got two of the 1200rpm versions and they're nice and quiet. Moves a good amount of air at the noise they're making. If you want it cheaper go to www.techworld.co.nz - bought $100 worth fans from them not too long ago and they delivered pretty quick, packaging excellent. The Noctua NF-P12 is great also, but bloody expensive for a single fan....

2009-04-26 04:39:00 | Guys... You do realise that I am talking about $155 being the WHOLE cost of the case including all fans and gizmos? I simply cannot pay more. So any ideas for a case with a couple of fans (Dont need to many, im not running a server, infact its for work/school use with some occasional gaming.) So do I even need so many fans? | Sir Prospect (14735) | |
2009-04-26 04:43:00 | The amound of fans the Antec 300 has is already sufficient. May run slightly hot, but will be fine as long as you arrange the cables nicely for good airflow. Blam

2009-04-26 10:21:00 | You do realise that you can buy these fans latter on down the track if your case fans are to loud for you and we are only TRYING TO HELP YOU!!! As you did post this comment: Quote:Sir Prospect *Noise* I dont want a mini sound system that only sends out screeching noises. I have plenty of those already. -\/- What i mean is wont all those fans be loud? And this as well Quote:Sir Prospect My terminology of loud in terms of computer noise is..... So any ideas for a case with a couple of fans (Dont need to many, im not running a server, infact its for work/school use with some occasional gaming.) So do I even need so many fans? Maybe this could help. I've just bought a Sunbeam Tech Trio, from Modster-PC, for $115 and 500 watt GFI power supply, on top of that was $65. The case has a door & window, looks smart:thumbs:
