2007-09-22 09:35:00 | TV 3, 8.30 tonight: en.wikipedia.org Probably crap but may be worth a look. Those who haven't watched it should. It's a really good movie. What was terrifying was I watched it for the first time the night before the Boxing Day Tsunami....

2007-09-22 10:14:00 | it's a shame it's total BS, but then no-one would be interested in those events spread over several thousand years (which would imo be much more interesting) | motorbyclist (188) | |
2007-09-22 10:20:00 | Exactly. And what have 6 billion humans been busy doing? Releasing stored energy = oil, coal, etc = carbon release. There is nothing natural about the speed of this - we are doing it. Honestly guys, I'm flummoxed that people here who are educated and intelligent still don't get it. I suppose it is because of the dearth of knowledge of science in the general population. There is just so much research which supports evidence of fast changes to our environment that it's impossible to ignore - or so I thought. :stare: So Winston, if we're causing it now, what caused it 55 million years ago?? Man didn't exist in any form that could be compared with what we are now... I don't deny that the Earth is undergoing climate change. I just don't buy the theory (and it IS still a theory) that we have anything but a miniscule impact on the change.

2007-09-22 10:26:00 | Climate change has always happened. Mars has warmed too lately. That's conveniently forgotten, because its not news then. Disasters make great news, not to mention the money to made from all this excitement........... x2

2007-09-22 12:19:00 | Well it's all a bit of a worry, as my Gran used to say. I guess that's where we need tedheath (not that he was any good at being Prime Minister of the UK before Thatcher came in and made everything great, yeah right) All he has to do is tell Carbon to F**K OFF and we can all sleep easy...........eh? | JackStraw (6573) | |
2007-09-22 22:52:00 | I've just read down to post #45, and I say that this is only partially caused by humans . . albeit there are some that totally say humans and technology are at fault . . but . . . . I don't see it that way . It's not an either-or situation . Humans are gullible, and they seem to follow the rest of the lemmings (exceptions here are in good count, however) and the head lemmings are telling the rest of the lemmings to believe what they say . Humans ARE indeed part of the problem, but not to the extent as is posted in the news and "scientific" journals or . . . say . . . such experts as some US politician who also invented the internet . :annoyed:

2007-09-23 04:23:00 | Do yoi believe that what people believe will make any difference? | Graham L (2) | |
2007-09-23 04:49:00 | Do yoi believe that what people believe will make any difference? No . . . what I DO believe is that people are scurrying around trying to fix something that is 'way out of the range of human experience, ability and talent . Political aspirants and eco do-gooders are all running around talking about the sky falling . . . and it IS . . and saying it's gonna be too late to fix it . . and it IS . . and that everyone who doesn't listen is guilty . . but that's wrong . Listen or not, activist or not . . . do gooder or tree hugger or flagrantly ignorant . . . it won't matter . I am not talking doom here caused by the environment and things out of control . . . although there are some people going to perish . I hate seeing people getting a snow job and missing the real reasons for what's going on 'round them It's just wasted efforts and fruitless activities that I fear will mask and fool some from the true reason and by then, things'll be over the top . Kinda like shuffling chairs on the Titanic . Now . . what I ask you is to NOT get me onto a soapbox . . . . I believe what I've stated and I most humbly am not debating it .
