593690 2007-10-21 02:36:00 Thank goodness there are more 'no' people than 'yes' people here.
There is hope yet that brains and common sense will prevail over insanity.

Did you know that we have a Minister for Climate Change, David Parker?
Despite the fact that there is no scientific consensus on climate change, the govt are trying to force this down our throats, without any room for debate whatsoever. We're all going to end up paying for this one way or another through this ridiculous carbon trading scheme, which will effectively be an industry run by bureaucrats with absolutely no environmental benefit whatsoever.
Then we have the Green Party (basically full of eco-nazis spouting nonsense), who are pushing for the Dairy Industry to be included in the Carbon Trading scheme - who the hell is going to be out there measuring all those cow farts?
What a complete waste of time, money and resources.
Seems like ALL the political parties are pushing this in one form or another. I've lost faith in the lot of them. Not that I ever had much in them in the first place.

For many years ships going about their normal activities were used to measure
The worlds ocean temperatures. They would lay a thermometer/recorder on the bottom of the ship.
When they docked, the temperatures were recorded.
Now they have multimillion dollar ships that do that. By these new readings they are claiming ocean/global Warming.
Global warming is just another junk science and a way for a few to get rich.
For the last month we have been freezing in Oregon. d

please do explain how any sea level rise could not affect the lifestyle of those who live at, below or near sea level? those cities are at risk if there is to be notable rises.

Well I think we should wait and see.

i bet our decendants are going to be really impressed with that attitude, especially if you're wrong. if you were barreling down the road and a bus pulled out infront of you would you avoid it, or "wait and see"?

didn't think so;)

do explain how your premises (italics) entail that conclusion (bold).

just because it's cold in oregon for a month (beginning of winter there isn't it?) doesn't mean that global recorded temperatures havn't been making a relatively steep increase over the past century compared to previous cycles. if anything, an unusually weather pattern, along with an apparent (though you could call it a percieved) increase in hurricanes & intenstity, and receding ice shelfs and glaciers are all signs that perhaps, just maybe, things are changing.

They're not at risk so stop worrying about it. A tsunami may be a problem for them but that's got nothing to do with global warming (no doubt some of the hysterical global warming zealots will find a link though).

Eh? Well the only bus pulling out in front of us is being driven by a hysterical nutcase and is full of drunk passengers. I'd keep on going and take 'em out :)

593698 2007-10-21 18:55:00 Well I’m gutted . :angry

Cripes, I’ve found a use for the extra water, swapped carbon dioxide for equal amounts of oxygen, produced some sugar for your Wheetbix and found a use for the extra daylight bestowed upon us and still no nomination for the Nobel Prize! . .

What more does man have to do .

At least Al could share his prize, miserable b…… :angry

We are having an early start of winter. Can I say “We are having Global Cooling”?
One guy wrote a book about global warming an d is getting richer for it.
What I was getting at about the thermometer. Di d they place it near the freezer, engine room?
How can they compare these ancient temperature rea d ing to mo d ern d igital thermometers rea d ings?
I want to see proof that the oceans are warming.
I know the lan d is warming (slightly) because of all the tree cutting. Instea d of them raking leaves, they just cut the tree d own an d then go to a “green’ meeting.
I shoul d write a book about using white asphalt, that woul d work if you want cool. d
