Managed to make quite a lot of money in doing so and become popular, help in the creation of a new tax and now making money out of dealing with the new problem... www.canadafreepress.com Now why didn't I think of that.... |

| 593663 | 2007-10-13 14:32:00 | I seem to remember reading somewhere that this Al Gore was right in the thick of promoting all the Hysteria about the Bird Flu Pandemic. Seems he was a shareholder and close associate of Roache, the Drug Company that manufactured the Tamiflu Vaccine, that wasnt a vaccine. In the end the pandemic was a fizzer but Al and Roache pocketed plenty. Good work if you can get away with it. It never ceases to amaze me how gullible people are and how they fall for these hoaxes. I still get E-Mails alerting me to computer virus hoaxes that are at least five years old. A bit like the Nigerian scams. People are still getting caught and expect sympathy. I must be a callus bastard as they dont get any. :D |

| 593664 | 2007-10-13 16:18:00 | . . . really makes one wonder what it is that empowers charlatans like these . Do people really LIKE being fooled? . . . I guess so . . and therefor goes any sympathy for them out my door . It might be an investment thing too . . . one does not have to invest much time or effort into being duped . . the other guy does all the work . Then as an adherent you can feel good about yourself because you think you've done something meaningful about "something" and everyone knows that's better than doing nothing at all about something important . Seems a shame to shed your own intelligence for a dumb gaze, a wind whistling thru your ears and head held high by those who think they are really on the bleeding edge of realization; a realization that nobody else but they and some elitist hack can only see . Maybe there just aren't any good heroes any more . But Al Gore is really the bottom of the organic waste in the heroes outhouse and he hasn't yet evolved and crawled out . People like him . I remember a favorite line from MIB: " A person is smart, but people are dumb" . |

I favour man-made for two reasons: 1. The planets population at 6 billion and growing, means huge releases of energy simply to keep people alive. The environment is being devastated by all of those people and the resulting pollution is killing the biosphere. It is also amplifying what is possibly a normal warming trend. 2. The amount of hydrocarbons released by man over the past 150 years is not natural. Yes, volcanic activity is always significant but even so you cannot ignore the billions of barrels of oil expelled into air and water annually. It has to have a cumulative effect. I haven't viewed the video yet so I will have a look - I'm interested in both sides of the argument and as I previously said, used to be a skeptic. Well let us examine this proposition Winston. You say the major problem is overpopulation. The groups that draw this conclusion also say half the world is starving. So why not bump this half off and put them out of their misery? But wait. This half have very little food and therefore very little flatulence. Nor do they have beer fridges, plasma TVs or motor vehicles, so we may bump them off and still be in the same position. Hmmm, then we have World Vision and all those other agencies feeding these poor souls which will only cause flatulence in 3 billion people. Hell if theyre all facing the same way the world could start spinning backward. (Dont tell Al or hell start another drama) So, the first conclusion is that all Aid must be stopped to these staving masses to stop the world going into a tailspin. This leaves us stuck with all the sods with Plasma TVs, beer fridges and motor vehicles. I suggest we bump off all those with Plasma TVs first, no, lets bump of everybody with any sort of TV and closely monitor the situation. Fortunately I have an exemption to any of this, provided by Robert Mugabe. ;) |

| 593667 | 2007-10-13 23:58:00 | OK. If we in the wealthy countries of the Western World do nothing about environmental pollution, we'll still be largely unaffected. By "nothing" I mean not trying to influence the Asian and South American tiger economies to be cleaner as well as doing that ourselves. The people who will suffer live in the poor crowded countries of the world. Out of sight and out of mind for us. I happen to think all humans are entitled to aspire to a safe and productive life - not just the ones who by sheer accident of birth live in the West. |

| 593668 | 2007-10-14 00:58:00 | OK . If we in the wealthy countries of the Western World do nothing about environmental pollution, we'll still be largely unaffected . By "nothing" I mean not trying to influence the Asian and South American tiger economies to be cleaner as well as doing that ourselves . The people who will suffer live in the poor crowded countries of the world . Out of sight and out of mind for us . I happen to think all humans are entitled to aspire to a safe and productive life - not just the ones who by sheer accident of birth live in the West . I think I speak for everyone else that we wish the hungry and sick and multiple-birthed peoples would get a fair shake too . . . but it ain't gonna happen with the way this system is set up . Look, Winston, and I look at you with deep respect . . I think we all have noble ideas and ideals and that we'd all do things differently if we were in charge . . but sometimes it's just a hand-wringing that we can do at best . I hate to see the little kids with no food/shoes/schools/parents etc in those lands with such horribly high birth rates and no way to support the infrastructure of the land's most valued commodity - humans . We are not unmoved by these scenes either . . even if you think we US'ers are trite and full-bellied and wasteful . . . it's just not that way either . There is nobody here turning a cold shoulder to the problems of the world . . but there's more on the bar-b than that these days . Everybody is in survival mode . . it's not natural nor is it healthy . It makes people exclusive in their goals and attentions . If you are being chased by a bear, you kinda ignore the beautiful scenery and smells of the forest . We DO get pompous horses asses on tv (right this very moment to be exact) with long horsey faces and deeply disturbed puppy eyes who tell us that WE are killing the world . But do THEY ever change THEIR wasteful ways? No! We are being told that WE have to suffer a little longer/deeper/more to solve this problem of global chilling/warming . . . take your current pick . . . and it's all a disguised plot to keep use confused and without a real rudder in life . I remember a saying a boss of mine had . . . it said that if you have a scared employee, they'll never be able to do their job looking over their shoulder all the time . We are all swimming now . . full Australian crawl, just to keep our noses above the flood . As humans, we cannot be allowed to pool our resourses and get a common plan . . as if that would do any good anyway . Keep the pot boiling . . even turn the heat up and make people all feel guilty of crimes against poor/freezing/dying/hungry/shoeless people and all at the same time pull the moral and human-caring carpet out from under them . We have too many balls in the air and it's our own fault . We got fooled by the system of things . Every age has had the same promises . . remember the 1932 World's Fair's proclamation that by the 1960's that we'd all have convertible cars that turned into airplanes to commute and that electricity would be free because nuclear energy would make it for no upkeep and no maintenance expenses? Well . . I don't have that hovercar yet and I am sure I just mailed off a rather substantial check to my electric company . See? All lies! You and I are too smart to fall for those hollow promises . . but sometimes I worry about you . (All in good humor, of course . . I am just trying to make a point here) |
